History: Wiki article here. I also wrote a history for her for another game.

Presentation: Kate is the type of person who refuses to take no for an answer. She is loud, bossy, persistent almost to a fault, and confident in her own abilities and skills. In a world populated by superhuman heroes, she's just a regular human being, and she refuses to let that be held against her in anyway. She works hard, she thinks and talks fast, and she's quick to take action. It might be noted that she has issues with authority. She doesn't like being told what to do, by anyone, be they teachers, classmates, or Captain America himself. Kate will stand up for herself every time, and she will not back down from a fight. This sometimes translates as foolish or reckless behavior.

And she has quite an ego. She doesn't like being wrong. She can seem stubborn, pigheaded, and sometimes like a bully, though she doesn't mean for it to seem that way. She just will not accept that things won't always go her way. She is a natural leader, charismatic, persuasive, and very good at problem solving. And she has genuine compassion for her fellow man. Kate is flirtatious and can navigate social situations easily. She also has an ease when it comes to dealing with adults.

She is often perceived as a spoiled rich girl, having faced no substantial obstacles in her life. It is true that her childhood up to age thirteen was idyllic and the picture of upper class perfection. But even before the death of her mother and the assault committed against her, Kate was always aware of the injustice and pain in the world around her. She can come across as spoiled, having access to vast amounts of money, though she is extremely generous and known for her acts of mercy and kindness. She donates her time and money endlessly, supporting worthy causes and volunteering in homeless shelters and soup kitchens. She truly enjoys helping others, whether as Kate Bishop the heiress, or as Hawkeye the vigilante.

She has no solid connection to the original Hawkeye other than her own learned skills and personality. She wasn't trained by Hawkeye, she wasn't a sidekick, she isn't a relative. After receiving Hawkeye's bow and the blessing of Captain America, she just declared herself to be Hawkeye, fashioning her own costume and taking to the streets as a masked hero. She has what some might call delusions of grandeur. Since she was sixteen, all she ever wanted was to be an Avenger. She will let nothing stand between her and her goal, not even lacking superpowers entirely.

Motivations: She is driven to be a hero for reasons beyond herself. Kate has a genuine desire to improve her world, through small acts of charity and earth-shattering alien invasions alike. She will give everything she has to improve the life of another person. She also tends to waffle on her genuine feelings of superiority and security. For all the projections of confidence, she can be overcome with self-doubt when she's really messed up or something terrible has happened.

Having been a victim of a violent crime, she still has residual issues stemming from that. At age 14, Kate was assaulted in Central Park, left beaten and traumatized by the event. This was a turning point in her life, resulting in her view on the world and on men shifting. She doesn't like to be touched, and she never wants to feel as weak and vulnerable as she did then. But rather than focusing entirely inward, Kate focused on improving her combat skills in order to prevent other girls from being attacked as she was. Still, the trauma is fresh in her mind, and she isn't open about discussing it with anyone. She never speaks openly about the trauma of her assault, and very few people know it even happened. The only two people aware of the situation are her therapist and Jessica Jones.

Prose: If it was a show these guys wanted, Kate could offer one up in spades. She could use any of the weapons laid out before her, show off her versatility and potential, win those so-called Gamemakers over with a pretty smile as she finished, and when she was done she could give herself a big round of applause and exit stage left. She could make this into a spectacle, with one-handed push ups, maybe set an arrow on fire before she loosed it at the target. Kate could do about a hundred different things to attract and hold their attention, but that didn't mean she was going to.

She loathed authority. Despised it. Being told what to do made her actively seek out a path to do just the opposite. It didn't matter the situation either. Life or death, paper or plastic. Once her mind was made up it was endlessly difficult to get her heels undug.

So she stood before the panel, arms crossed in a standoffish way, lips pursed into a shape vaguely resembling a duckbill. She was unimpressed, or at the very least trying to look it as she sized up the situation and her chances of escaping the room in one piece. After a snap assessment, she came to one conclusion. These people? They were totally, 100% serious about their non-celebrity deathmatch. And her chances at a radical escape? Slim to none.

Better start showing off, girly.

It would have been easiest to go for a bow, seeing that it was and would always be her weapon of choice. But when one was as good a shot as she was, going for the easy and obvious choice didn't make things much fun. Daggers might be eye catching, she considered. But then, they didn't quite have the pizzaz she was looking for.

Kate's eyes fell on a rapier, at long last, and lifting it swiftly, she took to her attack on the dummy like a wolf to a baby muskox. The blade moved like an extension of her arm, a glinting, metalic digit that could cause serious damage if handled improperly. But there was no danger of that here, as she clearly knew what she was doing and how to do it. If the mannequin were a man, he'd have bled out by the time her melee was over.

And all without breaking a sweat. Kate flipped her hair, blowing a loose wisp out of her face with a melodramatic puff of air. It was a show they wanted, right? Now it was time to take a bow. Which she did, smirk on her face as she announced clearly, "For my encore I'll need a volunteer from the audience."

Apparently their sense of humor was lacking, as no one raised their hand to participate. Disappointing, though not unexpected. But it raised the question about why she had to play the game if they didn't. Something to consider for later, however. Something to consider after her escape.

What is your character scored: Kate would score an 9. She's able to hold her own on a superhero team as the only member without powers. Not only does she do that, but she also impresses Captain America with her skills and personality enough to be given the name and bow of Hawkeye. Kate is a master archer, on the very top tier in terms of skill. She's also highly trained in fencing and other types of sword play as well as gymnastics and martial arts. In canon, she's demonstrated that she has a photographic memory, which makes memorizing her opponents' moves incredibly easy for her. Additionally, she's pretty and flirtatious and is known for her wit and charm, which would certainly please the crowd. In terms of weaknesses, she can be overly confident and overestimate herself and her skills, and especially when compared to other superheroes, as she's just a baseline human.
